What's happening at Kohala High School?
Homecoming 2026 was one for the books! Throughout the week students and staff dressed as various age groups, threw on their cowboy jeans and hats, mimicked Adam Sandler, and brought anything but a backpack to school. The noontime games were FIRE, the assembly was LIT, and it ended with the sweetest VICTORY for our football team!
"North Side Das Why!"
We had an AWESOME Welcome Back Week hosted by Student Council! Students showed off their school spirit all week long by throwing it back to Y2K, twinning with their besties, and representing their individual class colors. The week wrapped up with a fun-filled assembly featuring friendly competitions between students and faculty. And in the end… THE SENIORS came out VICTORIOUS! What a fantastic way to kick off the 2026–27 school year!
This two-day event gave incoming freshmen the opportunity to learn about campus life. Students toured the school, met faculty and staff, participated in class bonding activities, and became familiar with school policies and expectations.
Incoming 9th-grade students spent a month immersed in our CTE Pathways while strengthening their english/math skills and becoming familiar with campus life. Students who completed the program earned half an elective credit, giving them a strong start to their high school journey.
Kohala High School proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary, bringing together alumni, families, students, staff, and community members from near and far to honor this remarkable milestone. The three-day celebration kicked off on KHS campus before moving to Kamehameha Park, where friendly class competitions, reminiscing of the "good old days," and live music created an atmosphere of connection and celebration that lasted well into the evening. It was a memorable event that reflected the pride, tradition, and strong sense of community that define Kohala High—a celebration in true Kohala fashion!
