School Counseling Services

School Counselor - Mrs. E. Henderson (erin.henderson@k12.hi.us)

• School level counseling supporting social emotional well-being

• Academic advising

• College and Career counseling (Applications, scholarships, FAFSA, college/career exploration and information). 

• SAT and ASVAB Coordinator (tests offered 3X per year at KHS)

School Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) 

KHS has two SBBH counselors who service students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan.

Hazel Health 

Free telehealth (online) counseling sessions with local therapists. Sessions take place at school in a private setting or can be arranged for in-home setting. 

Big Island Substance Abuse Counseling(BISAC)

School-based services that empower youth to identify and understand life's challenges and see the benefits of a clean and sober lifestyle. Intervention and education are focused on enhancing their abilities to be successful, improve social outcomes, and build pro-social behaviors.

• The School Based Motivational Enhancement Service is a counseling approach that helps students resolve doubt about engaging in treatment and stopping their drug use. This approach aims to motivate and change rather than guide the student through the recovery process in steps.
